  • Automotive Management Institute Honors Class of 2017 at NACE Automechanika

    NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS, August 22, 2017 - The Automotive Management Institute (AMi), the industry's leading provider of management education for automotive service and collision repair professionals, held its graduation ceremony July 27 at the McCormick Place West Convention Center in Chicago. During this year's second graduation ceremony held in conjunction with NACE Automechanika, AMi recognized seven Customer Service Representatives, one Accredited Master Collision-Repair Estimator, six Accredited Automotive Managers and 20 Accredited Master Automotive Managers. "It was honor to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of this group of industry professionals during our graduation ceremony. This ceremony was the second graduating class for 2017. We are excited to see the growth of AMi reflected in the number of graduates and the diversity of certificates and professional designations being awarded," said AMi President, Jeff Peevy. AMi recognized its first graduating class of Customer Service Representatives (CSR). The six students receiving certificates completed required courses and accumulated a minimum of 60 credits.   • AMi Launches Professional Designations for Estimator Role

    North Richland Hills, Texas, July 24, 2017 ­- The Automotive Management Institute (AMi), the industry's leading nonprofit provider and collaborator of administrative and management education for automotive collision and mechanical service repair segments, announces the development and launch of two new professional designations for the Collision Repair Estimator role. "The new designations, represent fourteen months of industry work to identify and develop requirements, which include AMi, I-CAR and Information Provider training and ASE B6 Certification, stated AMi President, Jeff Peevy. "The designations also require elective credit hours from AMi approved industry training providers, teaching estimating related topics." Two levels of designations are available: Accredited Collision-Repair Estimator (ACE) Accredited Master Collision-Repair Estimator (AMCE) These new designations require multiple categories of training and professional achievement, including; business related and soft-skills, technical damage analysis and information provider. Both designations require I-CAR training to satisfy technical damage analysis.   • AMI Accepting Applications for $1,000 BodyShop Business Magazine Scholarship Application Deadline is June 30, 2017

    North Richland Hills, Texas, June 19, 2017 — The Automotive Management Institute (AMi) is accepting applications for the annual $1,000 BodyShop Business Magazine Scholarship. AMi in conjunction with Babcox Media, established the scholarship, which is awarded to an Automotive Service Association (ASA) Collision Division member who strives to be, or is presently working, in a management capacity. The scholarship will be applied toward the recipient’s expenses to attend the 2017 NACE Automechanika in Chicago, July 26-29. The industry event offers an educational lineup of AMi seminars, technical training courses and industry sessions, an exposition and the opportunity to network with other automotive service professionals. To be eligible for the award, the following requirements must be met: applicants must work in the collision repair industry; must demonstrate an interest in self-improvement through management education; must own or work for a business that is an ASA member in good standing; and, if the applicant is not the business owner, must be recommended by the business owner.
