  • Automotive Management Institute Honors Class of 2015

    NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS, August 25, 2015 — The Automotive Management Institute (AMi) recently honored its 21st class of Accredited Automotive Managers (AAMs). The graduating class of 2015 includes 58 automotive service and repair professionals who earned the Institute's prestigious AAM designation by successfully completing AMi courses and accumulating a minimum of 120 credits. The continuing education offered by the Institute helps automotive service professionals improve their business management skills. In addition to providing business management classes, the Institute offers the AAM designation, the industry’s first business education accreditation. AMi courses concentrate on five core areas of business management education: financial management, marketing and sales, operations and service, management and administration, and personnel and human resource development. “Hats off to these graduates who dedicated their time and efforts to increase their knowledge,” said AMi Vice Chairman Darrell Amberson. “Not only will they reap the rewards, but all who work with them will benefit.   • AMi Launches effort to collect Industry-wide Training Provider Information

    NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS, November 19, 2015 — As part of a major rebuild enhancement project, the Automotive Management Institute (AMi) announced today it would launch an industry-wide initiative to collect training provider information. Once collected, AMi will maintain the data in a searchable database on its website, www.amionline.org. “For many years, the industry has been discussing the need for an easily accessible and current database of all industry training information,” said Jeff Peevy, AMi president. “As a nonprofit, we believe AMi is uniquely positioned, to collect, offer and maintain this free searchable database as a service to the industry.” AMi encourages all training providers, consultants, organizations, aftermarket businesses or anyone involved in meeting the training needs of the automotive service and collision repair industries to participate in this initiative.   • AMi Announces 2015 Tom B. Babcox Memorial Scholarship Recipient

    COLLEYVILLE, TEXAS, July 13, 2015 ­— The Automotive Management Institute (AMi) – in conjunction with Babcox Media – has announced Benno Ceyer, owner of Weimer Machine/ Automotive Repair Specialists in Berwyn, Ill., as recipient of the Tom B. Babcox Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship recognizes a management-oriented member of the Automotive Service Association (ASA). The recipient receives $1,000 to be applied toward expenses to attend educational sessions and view the latest repair technologies and equipment during the Congress of Automotive Repair and Service (CARS), to be held July 21-25 this year in Detroit. Ceyer has worked in the automotive service industry for 43 years and has been a shop owner for the past 35 years. He holds several ASE industry certifications and is currently working toward completing the necessary requirements to earn the Institute’s Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation. When not working in the shop, he contributes his time to various industry and community organizations. “I’m honored to be selected as the recipient of the Tom B. Babcox Scholarship.
