AMi Announces 2015 Tom B. Babcox Memorial Scholarship Recipient

COLLEYVILLE, TEXAS, July 13, 2015 — The Automotive Management Institute (AMi) – in conjunction with Babcox Media – has announced Benno Ceyer, owner of Weimer Machine/ Automotive Repair Specialists in Berwyn, Ill., as recipient of the Tom B. Babcox Memorial Scholarship.
The scholarship recognizes a management-oriented member of the Automotive Service Association (ASA). The recipient receives $1,000 to be applied toward expenses to attend educational sessions and view the latest repair technologies and equipment during the Congress of Automotive Repair and Service (CARS), to be held July 21-25 this year in Detroit.
Ceyer has worked in the automotive service industry for 43 years and has been a shop owner for the past 35 years. He holds several ASE industry certifications and is currently working toward completing the necessary requirements to earn the Institute’s Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation. When not working in the shop, he contributes his time to various industry and community organizations.
“I’m honored to be selected as the recipient of the Tom B. Babcox Scholarship. I’m a firm believer in continuing education and constantly seeking resources to further my education. With this generous scholarship I will learn improved business practices and share that knowledge with the next generation of technicians and business owners,” said Ceyer.
AMi was established in 1989 to answer the demand for continuing education tailored specifically for the business needs of the automotive service industry. The Institute offers the Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation, the first business management accreditation exclusively for the automotive service professional.
