North Richland Hills, Texas, May 3, 2016 — The Automotive Management Institute (AMi) is accepting applications for the annual $1,000 Tom B. Babcox Memorial Scholarship. AMi in conjunction with Babcox Media, established the scholarship, which is awarded to an Automotive Service Association (ASA) Mechanical Division member who strives to be, or is presently working, in a management capacity. The scholarship will be applied toward the recipient’s expenses to attend the 2016 Congress of Automotive Repair and Service (CARS) in Anaheim, Calif., August 10-12. CARS is sponsored by ASA and offers an educational lineup of AMi seminars, technical courses and industry sessions, an exposition displaying the latest equipment, products and services and technology available to today’s automotive service professionals. To be eligible for the award, the following requirements must be met: applicants must work in the mechanical repair industry; must demonstrate an interest in self-improvement through management education; must own or work for a business that is an ASA member in good standing; and, if the applicant is not the business owner, must be recommended by the business owner. AMi in conjunction with Babcox Media, established the scholarship, which is awarded to an Automotive Service Association (ASA) Collision Division member who strives to be, or is presently working, in a management capacity. The scholarship money will be applied toward the recipient’s expenses to attend the 2016 International Autobody Congress & Exposition (NACE) in Anaheim, Calif., August 10-12. NACE, the world’s largest collision repair event, is sponsored by ASA, and offers a comprehensive lineup of AMi, industry and technical seminars, an exposition with hundreds of diverse exhibiting companies displaying the latest equipment, products and services and technology available to today’s collision repair industry. NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS, August 25, 2015 — The Automotive Management Institute (AMi) recently honored its 21st class of Accredited Automotive Managers (AAMs). The graduating class of 2015 includes 58 automotive service and repair professionals who earned the Institute's prestigious AAM designation by successfully completing AMi courses and accumulating a minimum of 120 credits. The continuing education offered by the Institute helps automotive service professionals improve their business management skills. In addition to providing business management classes, the Institute offers the AAM designation, the industry’s first business education accreditation. AMi courses concentrate on five core areas of business management education: financial management, marketing and sales, operations and service, management and administration, and personnel and human resource development. “Hats off to these graduates who dedicated their time and efforts to increase their knowledge,” said AMi Vice Chairman Darrell Amberson. “Not only will they reap the rewards, but all who work with them will benefit.
